A note from the VESA President in regards to the VESA 2026 Conference:
July 2025
Dear VESA Membership,
I’m writing to share an update on the 2026 VESA Conference.

After careful consideration and a vote by the executive board members present, a decision not to hold the 2026 VESA Conference was made based on several key factors:
-
The impact of the recent hold back on Title III funds, which created significant uncertainty around budgeting and planning.
-
Feedback from our recent survey to Title III Coordinators, which indicated attendance would be significantly impacted.
-
Significant fiscal implications that could occur to the organization given a cancellation or decrease in attendance.
While we received word that Title III funds will be released, we will still hold off on organizing the 2026 conference. The timing of the release and the lingering uncertainty around spending priorities this year suggest that many districts may remain cautious about allocating funds for travel and conference registration.
To ensure we continue supporting professional learning and our membership, the board will discuss alternate ways to provide professional learning opportunities this year that will offer more flexibility and accessibility for educators across the state. More information to come.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your continued leadership and support.
Warm regards,
Kristine Lentz-Johnston
VESA President
